CHARLESTOWN, Ind.,—NWSB has appointed Christopher Bottorff to the Board of Directors of the bank’s holding company, New Independent Bancshares, Inc. (NIB) and The New Washington State Bank (NWSB).
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the board of both NIB and NWSB,” said Syd Whitlock, NWSB President. “His experience, dedication to the bank and to the communities we serve, and his commitment to the shareholders will prove to be a valuable asset to both boards.”
Bottorff serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for NWSB, where he leads strategic planning and works directly with several key areas of the bank including Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Risk and Compliance, Security and Facilities, and the Title Insurance Agency.
“I’m honored to be nominated by the NWSB Board of Directors to serve the bank’s stakeholders, including the shareholders, customers, employees, and our communities,” Bottorff said. “In my position with the bank, I have the opportunity to work with such a great team. This added position will allow me the opportunity to assist the team to fulfill our mission of meeting the needs of our stakeholders.”
Bottorff has 37 years of experience in the banking industry, including 24 years in senior leadership roles. Throughout his career, he has held executive positions with multiple financial institutions across Southern Indiana and the Louisville metro area, consistently driving growth, developing teams, and leading strategic initiatives.
A lifelong resident of Jeffersonville, Ind., Bottorff serves on the boards of New Hope Services, the Lincoln Heritage Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Jeffersonville Planning and Zoning Commission, LifeSpring Foundation of Indiana, and the Delta Upsilon Indiana Chapter.
