SAGINAW, Mich.,—1st State Bank announced the retirement of Laura Yockey, senior vice president and business lending manager, after a 42-year banking career, according to Todd Gregory, president and CEO. Melissa Spranger has been promoted to succeed Yockey as senior vice president and business lending manager.

Yockey joined 1st State Bank in 2022 following leadership positions with Huntington Bank, Chemical Bank and Michigan National Bank. During her tenure, she led the bank’s business lending team and supported commercial banking throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.
“Laura has played an important role in strengthening our Business Lending and Leadership teams and advancing our commitment to serving local businesses throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region,” Gregory said.
Spranger joined 1st State Bank in 2024 as senior vice president and business lender. She has 25 years of commercial banking experience, including previous lending positions with Mercantile Bank, Huntington Bank and Chemical Bank. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Baker College and an MBA from Saginaw Valley State University.
