West Michigan Adds Dave Shaffer as VP, Commercial Banking

HUDSONVILLE, Mich.,—West Michigan Community Bank has added Dave Shaffer as VP commercial banking. Shaffer joins the bank with more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry, including commercial banking, leadership, and business development.

Shaffer’s extensive background includes key roles at Macatawa Bank, Fifth Third Commercial Bank, PNC/National City Bank, and most recently, serving as Chief Executive Officer of Interphase Interiors, a leading Haworth furniture dealership.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a passion for building strong relationships, developing high-performing teams, and delivering solutions that help businesses and communities thrive.

As a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Analysis, Shaffer’s leadership extends well beyond the workplace. He served as a Grand Rapids City Commissioner for eight years and currently holds volunteer leadership roles as Vice Chair of the City of Grand Rapids Westside Corridor Board and Vice President of the Walker Charter Academy School Board. He is also a regular volunteer with Junior Achievement.
