LANSING, Mich., — Michigan Certified Development Corporation President Mark Williams has been elected as an at-large director of the National Association of Development Companies.
NADCO is the trade association of Small Business Administration certified development companies, or CDCs, and other lenders who provide SBA loans and financing for small businesses. Founded in 1981, NADCO’s mission is to lead CDCs to ensure small businesses of all types and in all communities have access to affordable capital and services that promote economic growth. Williams will serve a one-year term.
Williams will work with the board in developing policies, priorities and positions for NADCO, providing strategic direction of the stewardship of NADCO’s resources, serving on committees, acting as an ambassador for NADCO, contributing to decision-making processes and other related activities.
“I am honored to serve with the rest of the NADCO board in leading our industry,” Williams said. “It will be exciting to use my skills and experience on the national level to ensure small businesses have access to the capital they need to succeed.”
Williams joined the MCDC as president in 2015. He has worked decades in the financial industry and has developed his skills in credit analysis, loan review, portfolio management and loan origination in various bank and non-bank lending settings.
Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in financial administration from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
“On behalf of NADCO, we would like to welcome Mark to the Board,” NADCO President and CEO Rhonda Pointon said. “NADCO’s board members bring diverse perspectives to our organization, enriching our discussions and enhancing our decision-making processes. We look forward to working with Mark to advance the interests of small business lenders nationwide.”
