EAST LANSING, Mich., -— Shannon Gordon has joined the Michigan Certified Development Corporation as Loan Officer for the Macomb, northeast Oakland, eastern Detroit and the Thumb region.
Gordon will oversee marketing efforts for MCDC’s Small Business Administration 504 Loan Program by collaborating with lenders, small business owners and other stakeholders to help drive economic development in his designated regions. He brings extensive experience in underwriting, commercial lending, relationship management, sales and business development to his new role with MCDC.
“Shannon’s experience and skillset make him an excellent addition to the MCDC team,” MCDC President Mark Williams said. “His expertise will help guide small businesses and spur economic development in these important regions of the state, creating sustainable job growth for years to come.”
Gordon owns and serves as business development and operations manager at MiCare Services of Detroit, which provides housing and support services for individuals who are veterans, disabled or experiencing homelessness.
Prior to his role with MCDC, Gordon served as the assistant vice president of small business banking at Comerica Bank in Detroit where he worked to attract, expand and retain banking relationships with small businesses, focusing on those with up to $3 million in annual revenue.

Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Davenport University.
