Valerie Jones, CNB’s First Vice President, Retires

Val Jones

CHEBOYGAN, Mich.,—After 14 years of dedicated service, Valerie Jones retired from Citizens National Bank in December, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and leadership. Jones, who joined CNB in 2011, was instrumental in creating and growing the bank’s Cash Management Department – a division that now serves as a cornerstone for CNB’s business banking solutions.

“Val didn’t just build a department – she built a legacy rooted in integrity and service,” said Matthew Keene, President & CEO of CNB. “Her vision for cash management has helped local businesses grow, and her commitment to both CNB and Northern Michigan has set a standard that will help our communities thrive for years to come.”

Jones began her CNB career as a teller before advancing through roles in auditing and retail banking, ultimately being named Vice President, Cash Management in 2015.

Jones serves on The Salvation Army board, helping to build the Together Lifting Children program at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, and volunteering her time at Faith Baptist Church.

“My CNB colleagues are like my extended family,” Jones said. “Working here for 14 years has been a challenging and rewarding part of my career. I couldn’t have done it all – working full-time, volunteering, and raising two wonderful children – without the support of my husband, Kerry,” Jones added. “I look forward to spending my retirement years with Kerry by my side, knowing my CNB family is just a call or branch visit away, and that the Cash Management Department is in good hands.”

Adam Cushman, Jason Dobias, and Talenna Calhoun will continue Jones’s legacy by advancing CNB’s Cash Management Department.
