WASHINGTON, — The ICBA has named René Shonerd executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO). In this role, Shonerd will oversee ICBA’s enterprise-wide technology strategy, ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of the association’s IT operations.
“René’s extensive experience in association technology and expertise will be a tremendous asset in ensuring ICBA has the infrastructure, and solutions needed to meet our members’ evolving needs,” ICBA Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Alex Galeano said. “Her leadership in digital transformation and IT strategy will support the continued growth and innovation of ICBA, ultimately benefiting our mission to serve community banks nationwide.”
Shonerd has over two decades of experience in association technology, having held leadership roles at various trade associations and served as an industry consultant. For the past seven years, she has worked with associations on IT assessments, strategy, data governance, and process optimization. Her expertise in supporting multi-entity organizations aligns well with ICBA’s subsidiary network.
Shonerd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University and a Master of Education from the University of Toledo. She is also a Certified Association Executive.
