West Bank Cuts Ribbon At New Headquarters

DES MOINES, Iowa, — West Bank held a ceremonial ribbon cutting in early May to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters building in West Des Moines. Dave Nelson, Chair and CEO of West Bank, opened the ceremony by mentioning West Bank as being the oldest business of any kind to be founded in West Des Moines. He talked about the importance of remaining headquartered in West Des Moines and the complexity that comes with redevelopment.

Nelson mentioned many people thought West Bank owned its old office space on 22nd Street, where it was leased for more than 50 years. West Bank’s growth over the years also led to a second leased office space, which housed several back-of-office employees. The new headquarters accommodates all 115 employees and offers plenty of room for future growth.

Other key speakers at the ribbon cutting included Doug Gulling, West Bank Building Construction Administrator; James Noyce, West Bank Board of Directors; Tom Hadden, West Des Moines City Manager; Matt Brown, President of Formation Group; and Katherine Harrington, President of West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce.

West Bank’s headquarters opened to the public on April 15. The four-story, 73,000 square foot building includes a rooftop entertaining space, retention pond, cafeteria and fitness area for employees, and a lobby and drive-up for customers.
