ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich., — First State Bank, has promoted three to its executive leadership team. Mike Ohlrich has been named Senior Vice President, Chief Lending Officer, April Matalavy has been appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Amy Persyn has been named Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer.
Mike Ohlrich joined First State Bank in 2023 with 25 years of banking experience in southeast Michigan. Mike earned his BS/BA in Finance/Economics from Central Michigan University, and his MBA in Finance and Management from Wayne State University. “Mike is ready to lead the team and continue the great success in our lending division,” stated Mark Jansen, First State Bank President and CEO.
April Matalavy has been with the bank 22 years. “April has served on my executive team for the past 18 months, assisting the team with strategic goal setting and implementation,” expressed Jansen. In her new role, she will continue supporting the Bank’s strategic focus while maintaining a commitment to developing talent and enhancing employee well-being.
Amy Persyn has served as the Marketing Director of First State Bank since 2018. “Amy has served on my team for the past 18 months, guiding the team with vision, strategic goal setting with a primary focus on marketing efforts, and the full customer experience,” stated Jansen. She will continue to focus on the customer experience, from new accounts and product software improving the way customers access their accounts and oversee all marketing efforts.
